The lime water mixer KM500/KM500S/KM800 ensures an even and gentle
introduction of lime water into the aquarium.
The constant stirring ensures that the lime water is maximally saturated.
DELTEC KM500
is a ready-made lime mixer for optimal refilling of calcium hydroxide in seawater.
The lime reactor KM500 supplies a seawater aquarium with a saturated calcium hydride solution, the so-called "lime milk", the water that runs off is "almost" clear.
INSTALLATION
The DELTEC KM500 is ideally operated in combination with an automatic refill system.
To do this, the hose from the refill pump is plugged into the stopcock of the mixer container; the return flow is led into the filter pan of the aquarium. In order to prevent the water from running back from the KM500 into the refill container, it is necessary to install a check valve in the pressure line between the refill pump and the KM500.
START-UP
- remove the agitator attached to the container tube
- pour approx. 150g calcium hydroxide into the mixer container
- fill the mixer container approx. 1/3 with fresh water (osmosis water) and mix well manually
- attach the agitator and switch
it on - water inlet via stopcock to fast dripping speed or set slow flow.
- IMPORTANT:
The drain shaft must not end "under water", otherwise the draining water from the mixer container cannot be guaranteed.
Adjust the water flow so that no calcium hydroxide can get into the aquarium even with a longer flow time, otherwise there is a risk of chemical burns on the corals and fish.
Maintenance:
When the calcium hydroxide is exhausted/(measure the KH value of the draining water), close the inlet stopcock, disconnect the inlet hose and clean the mixer container. Then refill with calcium hydroxide and proceed as before commissioning.
