ION EXCHANGE - DEMINERALIZING FILTER

Ion exchange is a process used to soften hard water by replacing the magnesium and calcium ions in hard water with others such as sodium or hydrogen ions. Ion exchange removes hard minerals. Cartridges use ion exchange resins, which are usually in the form of small granules. The TDS of the water purified by this filter is about 2-4 ppm. For comparison, distilled water has a TDS of 0. The filter is changed as needed when the TDS level of the water changes.
